I couldn't find a place to comment on a post about making brown sugar. I understand that most brands are made just as was demonstrated, adding molasses to white sugar, but that C&H has a different source and that it is actually something better, less toxins in the process - frankly I am not sure.

However, what is the point of making brown sugar for recipes? Molasses can be added along with white sugar without the step of mixing them together. I have used molasses in many ways, including adding to hot cereal before it goes to the table. That makes it so family can add their own amounts of milk, sugar, but the cereal is already flavored with yummy molasses. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
