At the Cottage by the Mountains, the snow is thick and deep. When it’s Antarctica cold–really cold–the snow is fluffy and dry, but when it’s merely freezing, it can be heavy and stick to the snow shovel.

Spray both sides of your snow shovel with cooking spray, and the snow will slide off easier. You can even spray the insides of the snowblower chute to help stop the snow from clogging.

The Damsel doesn’t PERSONALLY shovel snow. That’s why she birthed four sons.

Birthing four sons. Shoveling snow. I know which one I'd prefer. ;D

What a great trick! Can't believe I've never heard of this before. Thanks for sharing!

Just shared the tip with my hubby and he was impressed. =)

Pam cooking spray works, and should have no negative consequenses on your snowblower's chute.

Love the 4 sons part! My only question is what do you suggest for shoveling sunshine, which is about all we've got where i live (the desert!). :)

Sunshine? Scoop it, shovel it, wallow in it…I wish I was better at storing it up.

Love the four sons part. Unfortunately, three of mine have left the building so to speak. I do have one left and he shovels occasionally (usually when I drag him out of his room), my teenage daughter has discovered shoveling and seems to enjoy it along with her dad, so far, I don't have to shovel. I don't know what I will do when they all finish growing up! I will probably have to find a neighbor with four sons!

These menfolk….they do have their uses, don't they? LOL

The snow is higher than the car?! Never seen that before.

I’ll have to mention this to the family “shoveler”. Luckily that is one chore that I haven’t had to do yet. (As a wife, anyway- I had to do it all the time as a kid!)

You have that framed somewhere in your house, right?

    • the_damsel

heh heh…yes, they know their place in the kingdom.
